Church refurbishment and redevelopment
More details will be available very soon of opportunities for people to come and explore the revised plans for improving the facilities at CMC. It is now hoped that some refurbishment works can begin this autumn, followed by some new building and adaptations later in 2017.

Church cleaning
We will be sad to be saying goodbye this month to our cleaner, Kate Edwards, who is not able to continue working for us. Kate has worked for the church for about a year and we know that she will miss us too!

We are, however, delighted to be able to report that from July the church will be cleaned by ‘Overstream Clean’. Overstream Clean is a social enterprise run by the charity ‘Wintercomfort’, who support people who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes in Cambridge.

Mount Zion Pentecostal Church
Mount Zion church have been meeting at CMC for around 30 years but will soon be moving to a new home. Their last Sunday worship at Chesterton Methodist will be held on 24th July. We pray for a smooth transition and for God’s blessing for their future.

New walking group on Wednesday mornings
The charity ‘Sustrans’ have started a new walking group in Chesterton on Wednesday mornings. The group will meet and register at this church from 9.30am and set off for a simple walk at 10.00am, returning within about an hour for a hot drink at the church coffee morning. See posters for more details.

Community Action Day
Thanks to everyone who was able to help with refreshments at the Community Action Day last month. Donations for drinks were sent to East Anglia Childrens’ Hospice - £32.

Thursday 21st July at 2.30pm with the Histon Salvation Army songsters.

Holiday Club in October half-term
Plans are beginning to be made for an ecumenical holiday club for primary school age children in the October half-term. We will be working with our friends at St. George’s and St. Andrew’s to run a club on three mornings, at St. Andrew’s. More details available soon.

Farewell service for Rev’d Chris White
Some of us will know Rev’d Chris White who has been the Methodist minister based at Royston for 7 years. Chris has helped out at Chesterton at times and has been a much valued colleague in our Methodist Circuit. The circuit farewell service will be held at Royston Methodist on Sunday 17th July, at 6.30pm. We continue to hold Chris and his family in our prayers following the recent death of his wife, Lynne.

Watch this space!
