Outstanding building works
An update on the main entrance doors – background work is still ongoing to prepare to amend the main entrance. We expect the existing glazed, outer doors, to be replaced.

Little Music Makers
This much-loved group, meeting at CMC on Tuesday mornings in term time, continues to be very popular. It’s run by a small charitable group called ‘Chesterton Parent Group’, in partnership with the church. LMM has recently received a new two-year grant from the National Foundation for Youth Music which means that the activities continue to be offered at no cost to those attending.

It would be great if we could recruit a new volunteer or two that might have an interest in supporting the children and carers who attend – up to around 50 families each week. Is there someone that you know who might be interested? Ian would be very pleased to hear from you.

Thursday Fellowship

Everyone is welcome to the next meeting on Thursday 19th October at 2.30pm. The speaker is not yet confirmed. Ask Rosemary Tice for more details.

A note from the church stewards
We are pleased to be able to share news of an announcement made during September about Deacon Ian. Ian was initially appointed to serve in the Cambridge Methodist Circuit (mostly at Chesterton) for a term of 5 years until the summer of 2018. A further term of 5 years has now been agreed and therefore Ian is now due to remain in Cambridge until at least July 2023. If you would like to know anything further about this Rachel Hallam would be happy to answer any questions.

Dates for your diaries
On Saturday 11th November (morning) we need to have a working party to finish off sorting out all sorts of ‘stuff’ which is stored in different cupboards around the church. There will be some things which we need to throw away and other things which need re-arranging.

And yes, some Christmas dates:
Joint Nativity service at Wesley Methodist – Sunday 10th December, 10.30.
Switch on of the Xmas tree lights by the Mayor – Tuesday 12th December, 6pm
Christingle service – Sunday 17th December, 4pm
